Update Notes for FileSplit 1.1
This version of FileSplit adds some new features over 1.0, to wit:
• The useless "Ignore Last Carriage Return" switch has been removed.
This was intended to facilitate the merging of BinHex files, but
didn't work correctly.
• In its place, "Split BinHex File" has been implemented. This option,
when checked (the default) scans the file to be split, looking
for a line that begins with a colon (":"); this indicates the
start of BinHex'd data. The data up to this first part is written
onto the first split segment, and then the BinHex lines are split
properly; file boundaries will always be on BinHex line boundaries,
so there will be no partial lines to cause problems when joining.
• Some feedback has been provided when splitting and joining files
in the form of a spinning "beach ball" cursor; it spins left when
joining, right when splitting.
• A minor bug in handing the cursor maintenance for the Standard File
boxes has been fixed.
• The creator has been changed from "SPLT" to "Splt", to avoid
conflict with a demo program from the TML Source Code Library
(I found this one *completely* by accident!)
I hope that FileSplit continues to be serviceable to you, and I thank
you for your support.
